n8nCoder is designed with privacy in mind. The Extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information (PII) from users. The following types of data may be processed locally on your device for the core functionalities:

  • Active Tab & Page Content: To enable interaction with n8n workflow pages, the extension accesses the content of the active tab. This access is strictly limited to pages matching workflow-related URLs (e.g., *://*/workflow/*).

  • Node & Workflow Data: The extension reads workflow node data from the n8n interface to provide automation features. All processing occurs locally in your browser and is not transmitted externally.

  • Local Storage: User settings, preferences, and themes are stored locally in your browser using the storage.local API. This data is not sent to any external servers.

  • Notifications & Shortcuts: The extension may use browser notifications and shortcut activation for usability. These features do not involve any data collection.

The extension does not track your browsing activity, nor does it collect or store any personal data or credentials from your n8n instance.

2. How We Use Information

  • All information handled by n8nCoder is used exclusively to provide its intended functionality (e.g., interacting with n8n nodes, managing settings, enabling notifications).

  • No information is shared with third parties, nor is it used for advertising or analytics purposes.

  • No user data leaves your local device.

3. Permissions Justification

n8nCoder requests the following Chrome extension permissions solely for its core functions:

  • activeTab: To interact with the currently open n8n workflow page.

  • scripting: To inject scripts/styles and enable content script features.

  • storage: To save extension settings and user preferences locally.

  • tabs: To provide cross-tab interaction with n8n pages.

  • notifications: To deliver helpful alerts or updates to the user.

These permissions do not allow the extension to access, collect, or transmit personal information beyond what is necessary for its operation. No external servers are contacted except when explicitly required for features (e.g., optional update checks, which do not involve user data).

4. Third-Party Services

n8nCoder does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services or APIs. All automation and AI features work locally within your browser and on supported n8n workflow pages.

5. Data Security

  • All extension operations run in the sandboxed environment provided by your browser.

  • No personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted.

  • Local data is only accessible within your browser profile.

6. Children's Privacy

n8nCoder is not intended for use by children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
